Is it possible to use the glue in wet areas?


Yes – our emcoround products have been tested in wet areas at 50°C heat and a relative humidity of 100%. The products are approved for applications in wet areas.

What substrates can the glue be used on?


Ceramic, natural and artificial stone, steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper, painted and coated surfaces, glass, mirror, etc.

How long does the glue take to set before I can put any weight on the accessory?


The 2-component adhesive takes 4 hours to set. During this time, no load must be placed on the accessory. You can also watch our installation video about this. Watch the video here.

How securely are the accessories attached using this system?


Before an accessory is approved for gluing, we carry out stress tests in the laboratory. The glued accessories are loaded with different weights, and the weight is gradually increased. Whether the accessory is suitable for gluing or has to be...

Can I glue onto joints?


It is possible to glue onto joints, but we recommend not doing so, as removing residues from joints is more labour intensive. If you do still need to do this, single horizontal or vertical joints are more suitable than crossing points.

Can I glue onto existing drill holes?


Yes, you can, if the drill holes are vacuumed out and filled with adhesive before the mounting plate is attached.

Can products glued with the emco glue system be cleaned with standard household cleaning agents?


The adhesive is resistant to standard household cleaning agents if used correctly.

How long will the glued mounting last? Will the glue eventually break down by itself or hold until I remove it?


Once the glue has set, it behaves like a rubbery plastic. The long-term stability has been tested extensively – even in wet areas. The adhesive bond will last until you decide to remove it.  

Can the accessory and the adhesive be removed without residue?


On a smooth surface, you can simply remove a mounting with a putty knife and a hammer. Should any traces of adhesive remain, they can easily be removed with a ceramic scraper or a silicone remover and a cloth. You can also watch the i.Glue...

How many accessories can I attach with one pack of i.Mix glue?


You can attach 5–6 accessories with one pack.

What does the emco glue system consist of?


The system consists of a holding ring, a cleaning cloth, an abrasive pad, a glue sachet and application instructions.

Working with the adhesive: What do I need to be aware of?


The adhesive can be handled at temperatures of up to 50°C without any problems. The handling time is reduced from 15–20 minutes under conditions such as those in northern Europe to 2–2.5 minutes under the above-mentioned conditions.

Setting time: under what conditions are the setting times calculated?


The setting time was calculated at standard climate (23°C, 50% humidity) plus a safety margin. Temperature and humidity affect the setting time.

Does the glue present any health hazards?


The glue is EU-REACH compliant and is not labelled as hazardous material. Since it only shrinks slightly during hardening, it is also very mould resistant.
